BIRTH AND ANCESTRY:
Late Bassey David Ikpe was born in March 1944 into the family of Late David Ikpe Andem of Nnung Ekuo- Eka- Inyang-Abia, Nung Obio Unek in Ikot Andem Itam Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State and his mother was Late Madam Affiong Udo Inyang of Obot Odong Ikot Andem Itam, both in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. He was the only male child to his parents.
Late Bassey Started his primary education in the church of Scotland Mission School West Itam, Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, He scaled through to Standard Four and Could not continue after the demise of his Fathe, Since there was no one to take up the responsibility of his education. This could not hinder him as he personally developed himself to the point where he could read, write and Speak both the Efik/Ibibio and English languages respectively.
Late Bassey David Started the Struggles of life in his youthful stage as a craft man. He produced material from raffia cane, such as basket, Chairs and other raffia products and sold them in Ikot Ekpene ( which was known as the raffia city) and Iffiayong (in Uruan town) markets respectively; this he did after School and holiday periods. After the death of his father, in the early 70s, he relocated to Calabar (Obio Efik) in search of livelihood.
He Joined the then Asuquo Works and Harbor Works respectively as Mason (bricklayer) in building Construction. Because he was good at what he did, he worked in notable Construction Sites, Such as the Margret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar Free trade Zone (EPZ), CALCEMCO ( Calabar Cement Company, now Lafarge Cement Company) and others. He was often addressed as an engineer, though he never Studied in any Conventional School. In order to cater for his immediate family, late Ete Ba had to combine some security work with his daily struggles. He worked as a Security guard for Dave Ashang, the then Secretary to the Cross River State Government.
Late Brother Bassey Ikpe got married in 1976 to Late Arit Etim Akpan of Nung Mbuk Royal Family in Ikot Andem Itam, whose mother was late Mary Etuk Akpan Okon of Nnung Emah in Ikot Andem Itam. The Union produced 6Children, of which 5 are still alive.
Brother Bassey David Ikpe was born into the Church of Christ family. When relocated to Calabar, he Joined the Deeper Life Bible Church in 1984 as a member during the time pastor Augustine Odih, the first State overseer of Cross River State and remained an active member till his demise in 2019.
Ete-Ba was fond to be with; he welcomed and accommodated all who came his way.
He was a lover of peace and strived to create an atmosphere for it. His slogan was always”ami nyomo iko ye owo”, meaning I don’t want problem with anyone. You can’t be with him without getting enough stories and advice about Life. He was a generous man who shared with others, no matter how small it seemed. He was an easy going man. A lover of gist and can keep you for hours with different gist. He was very Jovial, and full of humor.
As his manner had been, he usually prepared himself on Saturday against Sunday service because he hated going to any meeting late. He never knew that, the preparation was for the great beyond. On Saturday the 10th of August he fell sick and was taken to the hospital and after medical and Spiritual attention, he slept on at the sunset of Monday the 12th of August at about 4pm.
This affirms with the words of a great versifier, William Shakespeare, ” Thou know’st it’s common; all that lives must die, Passing through nature to eternity”.
Left behind are Children, grand-Children, great-grand-Children, In-laws and others.

For Late Deacon Solomon Archibong Usanga, the end has come and we cannot question God.
BIRTH AND PARENTAGE
Late Deacon Solomon Archibong Usanga was born on 13th of October 1948 to the family of Late Archibong Usanga Etukudo of Nung Akpafia family in Ikot Andem Itam, while his mother was Late Akon Archibong Usanga of Nung Ema family of Ikot Andem Itam, Itu Local Government Area.
Late Deacon Solomon Archibong Usanga started his primary education at Government Primary School Ikot Andem Itam in 1958 and obtained his First School Certificate in 1964.
He attended Itam Secondary School, Itam and obtained his WASC in 1972, He also attended Teachers Training College Ididep were he obtained Teachers Grade ii Certificate in 1976. In 1979 he gained admission into the school of Nursing Eket and obtained his RN qualification in 1982. He later proceeded for post-basic studies in school of post Basic NursingvUniversity of Benin Teaching Hospital where he obtained Diploma in pre-operative Nursing and Management in 1990.
Late Deacon Solomon Archibong Usanga was very honest and hardworking civil servant. Daddy had a brief stint with the then Cross River State Ministry of Education between 1976 to 1979. He taught in PCN School Idoro, Ibiono Ibom and PCN School East Itam, Itu during this period. He switched to the Ministry of Health where he worked in the following stations;

In 2012, he retired from the Civil Service and Started Solo Patient Medicine shop where he continues to save lives till his death.
Late Deacon Solomon Archibong Usanga was a very devoted, dedicated and exemplary Christian. Though he was born into a Christian family, in 1992 he gave his life to Christ and joined the Assemblies of God Church, since then he has remained committed to the service of God.
He has served in many capacities including Church Committee Chairman, Church Secretary, Sectional Men’s Treasurer, Member Uyo East project Development and Implementation Committee(PRODICOM), etc.
Solo, as he was fondly called, had a simple, loving caring and accomplished lifestyle. He stood for truth and justice in his business.
Daddy loved saving lives, to the detriment of his personal life. No doubt he attracted several people who adopted him as their father.
Late Deacon Solomon Archibong Usanga got married to pretty Mrs. Inyang Solomon Usanga of Nung Ema family of Ikot Andem Itam, Itu Local Government Area. The marriage was blessed with four children and several foster and adopted children.
Late Deacon Solomon Archibong Usanga gave up the ghost on 29th of May 2019 after a protracted illness. He is survived by;

A PROFILE OF LATE ELDER( ETEIDUNG) EKOP NNA AKPAN(JP) VILLAGE HEAD OF OBONG ITAM ITU
BIRTH AND PARENTAGE:
Elder (ETEIDUNG) EKOP NNA AKPAN was born on 27th April, 1950 in OBONG Itam, Itu Local Government to the family of late OBONG Nna Etok Akpan Ukut fondly called “Akpaofon” Of Nung ” Obio Akpan “in ” Nung Ewan Eko Ata ide” and Late Madam Okonanwan Sampson of ” Nung Udofia Ukpong” family in ” Nung Ambit” family both of obong Itam, In Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Eteidung Ekpo Nna’s birth as the first male child was not only a piece of joy to his parents and other family members, but he was seen as a young boy with the talent to lead.
Due to need for Western Education, Late Elder (Eteidung) EKOP NNA AKPAN attended west Itam Presbyterian Primary School, Obong Itam and obtained his first School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) in 1962. As a brilliant young lad, papa hurriedly gained admission into the prestigious Itam Secondary School, Itam as one of the pioneer students where he sat for and obtained his west African School Certificate (WASC) in 1968 with flying colours.
Between 1968 and 1972, papa attended the technical college of education, Akoka, Lagos and obtained the National Certificate in Education (NCE1). Shortly after his return from Lagos, papa got an appointment by the then cross river State Government as a classroom teacher to teach Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Technical Engineering Drawing.
Because of his desire for Western Education, he took a leave from his employers to study offshore precisely, in the university of Manchester, England where he obtained a Diploma in Advance Study in Education (DASE) In 1981. Papa went further and obtained a master’s in Education (M.ED) from the same university of Manchester in 1997.
WORK AND PROFESSIONAL LIFE:
Elder (Eteidung) Ekop Nna Akpan began his professional career as a teacher with St. Mary’s T.T.C Ediene Abak, now St. Mary’s Science College, Ediene Abak. He was very committed and astute in service and that ensured his rise through the ranks. Thus, his appointment as a principal of schools in 1986 was not a fluke, and had served religiously well in many schools including Secondary School Ibedu/Idikpa, Nist Atai, Asong Community Grammar School, Mkpat Enin, Regina Coeli College, Essene, Ikot Abasi, Holy Trinity College, Mbiakong, Uruan and a host other schools too numerous to mention. In recognition of his excellent leadership style by his colleagues at work, he was nominated and elected Chairman, All Nigeria conference of principals of secondary schools (Ancopss) Itu Zone 2000 – 2002. Because of his dedication to service and to the admiration of his employers, the Akwa Ibom State Government found him more responsible and appointed him deputy Director of schools, Uyo Zone where he served from 2005 up till his retirement in 2007.
Papa was married and his marriage was blessed with children to whom he gave himself, love, resources and a disciplinarian who never spared the rod. He taught us to imbibe the nugget of “Tick says the clock”. His benevolence knew no bounds and went beyond even his extended family.
Elder (Eteidung) Ekop Nna Akpan was born into the Christian family of the Presbyterian faith. His strong belief in the church doctrine saw his ordination as an Elder of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria. He had held many positions’s in the church including, clerk of session, Itam Central Parish, Patron, Boys’ Brigade; Patron CGIT and a host of other offices and positions just to mention but a few.
Eteidung was a charismatic leader full of life and positive energy. He won many awards in recognition of his dedicated service to the socio-economic advancement of his people. Little wonder he became Assistant Secretary General, union of Nigerians in England in 1981-82.
Due to his Sterling leadership quality, he was made member, Greater Manchester police Community Relations Committee in that same year, 1981-82. For patriotism and love for his fatherland, he was made Secretary, Obong Itam development league between 1984-1987 and later became president of the league in 1988-89.
He, in conjunction with other Obong Itam Sons and Co-founded the Esop Ufon Ndito Obong Itam” and was president from 1992 till death. Although he was the Eteidung of obong Itam village, he was able to combine the Christian doctrine with the traditions and culture of obong Itam and that led to his appointment as a Chairman, Obong Itam congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria from 2007 till death.
He was also recognized by the United Nation as an Ambassador for peace. He was a member of the Traditional Rulers Council (TRC) and had served in different capacities.
On Sunday August 19 2019, death came un-noticed to snuff out the earthly life of our Father, Husband, Brother, Father In-law, counsel and friend. In what seemed like a mirage, it came out real and true on Friday, August 23, 2019. In what could be described as a brief illiness. But we are consoled by the scriptures in John 11:25-26 ” I am the resurrection and life. Whoever believes in me will live, even through he dies and whoever live and believes in me will never die”.
